I’m Göran Backlund and I’m a philosopher. A couple of years ago, something remarkable happened to me. I wrote it down in here:

Awakening: My Story.

I made this site to help you find what I found. I want to help you wake up.

You can also subscribe to updates so that you’ll get notified every time a new piece is published. You’ll also get exclusive content delivered directly to your inbox.

I also wrote a book, “Refuting the External World”. It’s a step by step guide, deconstructing the notion of ‘objective reality’.

You can also join my facebook group, which is the place to discuss the book, the site and awakening in general.

Hi! This may be a silly question, but I’m a nutritionist and my job is helping people eat healthfully, especially as it affects their weight, which seems to affect other health areas like diabetes and heart disease. To eat healthfully, one has to live naturally, I truly believe this, that’s why I read your blog. I also want to “wake up”, even though I’ve been waking up little by little ever since my first disappointment. Life forcing me to change my mind so I can stop suffering. I want to help people listen to and follow their true hunger for food and separate it from hunger for other things, things like love, comfort, etc. Anyway, I’m designing a website for my business as Nutrition Counselor and the name of it is Loving Your Weight. Do you think this is a good name for a “non-duality” weight management website? I got this Loving Your Weight idea from Katie Byron’s book called Loving What Is. Wondering what you think.

    Thanks.
I love your blog, want to get your book asap.

I have your book on my Kindle; is it available in paperback or hard cover print form?

Hi Goran, I read your book – Refuting the external world – and I was honestly impressed by your logic and cutting through of assumptions. I could find no flaw in the entire argument. But, I find missing in the book a treatment of the experience of Time and Thought. Regardless, I found your book quite remarkable. Cheers!

    Hi Goran,

I am familiar with the happening. One question though – why would you desire to wake people up? Who is it who desires that? Why not accept everyone as is, ignorant people included?

Goran, I find your articles to be thought provoking, and I’d like to go deeper by reading your book.

Do you have plans to publish it as paperback? That would be great, since I don’t own a Kindle or iPad!

    Thanks, Tina

  8. Hello,

I hope all is well with you.

I have recently had a small glimpse of what I believe was awareness recognizing awareness. I guess I am looking for some validation/clarification that I am on the right path.

Recently, I came across an understanding that the more I relax into nothing(no thought/space) the more aware I become. However, I realize that awareness is prior to what is actually experienced in form(and form can’t change awareness). I am now experiencing how awareness watches, notices and affects consciousness(form). The more I’m awareness the more the world becomes awareness(senses) I have also had some intuitive thoughts that I’m not 100% sure whether to trust. The world appears to be awareness which is also consciousness which is nothing including everything(including myself). Sinking/Falling into awareness(prior to thought/form) allows for the experience of awareness to be realized in consciousness(there are unlimited levels of consciousness). The deeper you sink, the more that is revealed.

Does this sound accurate? Thanks again for taking time to read this.
